This is a real blow! Bill was my best friend from Mitchell school from Kindergarten to 6th grade. We did everything together with Joel Johnson as well. Pollard and after school sports got in our way, but the memories are all still there. I'm so sorry for his family, he really was a unique and good friend!

I remember Billy very well as we lived close to each other...Billy on Holland Terrace and me on Fairlawn Street...coincidentally both deadend streets splitting a block partially in two, very close to Needham High.

We followed the same path thru Needham schools...Mitchell, Pollard & NHS. I have a memory of Billy taking some classes at NHS on the bottom floor of the "C" building where the "Industrial Arts" courses were taught and maybe there was a place were students could work on cars. There were times when I would go to Needham and see my parents and for some reason I think Billy worked at a gas station on Highland Avenue in Needham Heights doing mechanical work on cars. I'm so glad he lived and worked in professions that were passions and not just "jobs".

My sincere condolences to Billy's family. He was a kind man with a good soul.
