CHAMBERS, John G. "Johnny" 92, of Needham, December 25, 2009. Beloved husband of the late Dorothea (Evans) Loving father of Susan O'Leary and her husband James of Needham, John G. "Jack" Chambers Jr. and his wife Deborah of Medfield and Gary Chambers of Martha's Vineyard. Dear grandfather of Danielle Sammut of Needham, Kerri Kober of Holliston, Jamie O'Leary of Norfolk and Christopher Chambers of Millis. Also survived by 8 great grandchildren. Funeral from the Eaton Funeral Home, 1351 Highland Ave, NEEDHAM, on Wednesday, December 30 at 9:00AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Saint Joseph Church at 10:00 AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours on Tuesday from 4-7 PM. Interment with Military Honors Needham Cemetery. Late graduate Needham High School class of 1935 where he excelled as a three season athlete. Received his bachelors degree from Boston University where he was a member of the New England Champion team his senior year. US Coast Guard World War II veteran. Retired Math teacher for Needham High School. Coach Chambers was head coach of the Needham High Hockey team for 16 years. "Coach" was inducted into the Mass Coaches Hall of Fame in 2001. "JC" will also be remembered as a fine tennis coach at Needham High.
